Vibration is Everything: How to Attract What You Want

Today, we’re talking about raising your vibration—changing your frequency so you start attracting the people, experiences, and opportunities you truly want in your life.

Maybe you think some people are just lucky, but you’re not.

Maybe you compare yourself to others all the time—“Why does she have that and I don’t?” or “Why is her business thriving while mine feels stuck?”

Instead of focusing outward and allowing yourself to feel less than, today I want to talk about why learning to shift your vibration is a game changer—and I’ll give you simple, actionable ways to start doing it today.

Why Your Vibration Matters

The theory is that the lower vibe feelings you experience, the more you’ll continue to attract experiences, people, and things that reinforce those crappy feelings.

Abraham Hicks brought us the Law of Attraction, which says that like attracts like. In other words, what you focus on, you invite more of into your life.

If you’re dwelling in low-energy emotions—fear, jealousy, disappointment—then you’ll keep encountering situations that reflect those feelings right back at you.

I love scuba diving, and I think of vibration and frequency like the thermocline.

If you’re not familiar with the term, the thermocline is the layer in the ocean where the temperature shifts dramatically.

In Wellington, where I live, the ocean is always cold. But on a good day, the first few inches of water will be warm.

If I’m floating in the shallows, I can stay in for longer.

But if I go deeper, it quickly gets unpleasantly cold. Even with a wetsuit, I can’t stay down there for long.

Now, think of this in terms of your vibration.

The deeper you go into the ocean, the colder and darker it gets. The creatures down there? Essential to the ecosystem, but not exactly the kind you’d want to snuggle with.

The lower your vibration, the more you stay in those darker, heavier emotions—fear, guilt, blame, anger—and the more your life reflects that energy.

But near the surface, it’s brighter, warmer, and more colorful.

The coral is vibrant, the fish are cute, and everything feels easier.

That’s what it’s like when you’re operating at a higher vibration—you’re attracting joy, love, appreciation, and ease. It makes your life so much better!

Personally, I love a nice, warm, shallow, drift dive. I plop off the boat, drift with the current along a glorious sea wall or reef, seeing all the pretty things, and then get picked up by the boat at the end.

It sure beats going into deep, cold, murky water with the Jaws soundtrack playing on a loop in my head!

So, how do we shift from the murky depths—where everything feels heavy and uncertain—to the clear, warm waters where life feels lighter and more joyful?"

How to Shift Your Vibration

When I first started hearing about raising my vibration, the theory made sense, but I didn’t know how to actually do it.

And, as usual, I overcomplicated it by reading everything I could find and listening to different teachers. The simplicity was right in front of me but I kept thinking, surely it can’t be that easy so kept digging more and more into the topic.

But the truth is, it is simple and it’s something you have the power to do all day, every day if you choose to.

First off, notice how you’re feeling.

We’re so used to going through the motions that we don’t always stop and check in. Take a deep breath in and out and ask yourself: “How am I actually feeling right now?”

Once you’ve identified the feeling,

Notice the thoughts driving that feeling.

Your emotions don’t come out of nowhere. They stem from the thoughts running in your head. What are you telling yourself?

Now let yourself feel it.

Emotions are energy. If you allow yourself to fully feel them, they pass through in 60-90 seconds.

But most of us suppress them, tamp them down, or carry them around for years. Let it out.

(just be mindful of your surroundings– you don’t want to scare the crap out of anyone. Perhaps write them down to process them if you can’t scream into your pillow)

Now, decide how you want to feel.

Yes, decide.

Do you want to stay stuck in that loop, wallowing in misery, or replaying a fight in your head, proving your point to someone who isn’t even there?

Or do you want to feel better?

Find thoughts that help you shift.

You don’t have to leap from despair to joy in one step. But you can reach for a slightly better-feeling thought. Write it down. Say it out loud. Let it sink in. Let yourself feel it.

And when you do this? You start feeling lighter. More optimistic. Maybe even—dare I say it—happy.

And just like that, you’re out of the murky depths, and your point of attraction is higher, so you’ll start bringing in better experiences.

This is a Practice, Not a One-Time Fix

If you’re anything like me, you’ll have to do this multiple times a day, whenever you notice you’re stuck in a feeling you don’t want to be in.

At first, it can feel exhausting. I remember how much effort it took to shift my energy in the beginning. Sometimes, I wanted to give up. But then I’d remind myself what I was playing for.

I didn’t want my life to stay the same. And in those moments, I decided—again and again—to keep going.

That’s when I really started to believe the idea that the thoughts I was having were creating the emotions I was feeling, which then led to the actions (or inactions) I was taking.

You see, it’s a cycle: lousy thoughts lead to lousy feelings, which lead to lousy actions, and eventually, lousy results.

So, if you’re stuck in that cycle, it’s time to break it.

Your vibration is the result of your thoughts.

And when you’re thinking negative, limiting thoughts, they trigger negative emotions that keep you stuck in a cycle of low energy.

You end up feeling frustrated, defeated, or even hopeless.

Those feelings lead to actions—or inaction—that reflect that same low energy. Maybe you procrastinate, avoid showing up, or don’t put your best foot forward.

And guess what? That results in outcomes that reinforce your negative thinking: poor results, missed opportunities, and a business that feels stuck.

To lock this in, here's an example:

Let’s say you’re struggling to attract your ideal clients.

You’re feeling dissatisfied, and your thought is something like, "No one wants to buy what I’m offering."

That thought makes you feel frustrated and discouraged. When you're feeling that way, you might hesitate to market yourself, or maybe you don’t show up as confidently as you would if you were feeling positive.

This leads to poor engagement and even fewer inquiries from your ideal clients—reinforcing the original thought, "No one wants to buy from me."

But here’s the thing: You can walk your way out of that cycle!

The first step is acknowledging how you’re feeling and noticing the thoughts driving those feelings.

So, instead of letting yourself spiral, take a deep breath and decide to shift.

Start by reframing that thought: for example, you could try "There are plenty of people out there who would benefit from what I offer, I just need to reach them in the right way."

That thought enables a feeling that’s slightly better than frustration. Maybe it feels a bit more like hope or determination.

Ask yourself, "What would I do if I felt hopeful or confident about attracting the right clients?"

Then you could take aligned action from there—perhaps writing a new post or offering a special promotion that speaks directly to your ideal clients' needs.

When you make a decision to shift your vibration, you’ll begin to attract different results.

Your thoughts lead to different feelings, which influence your actions, and those new actions will ultimately create better results.

Other Ways to Raise Your Vibration

The more you do this work, the more you’ll start noticing your limiting beliefs—the thoughts and beliefs that are actually running the show.

That’s why, even if you’re great at visualizing your dream life and taking action, you might still feel stuck. Those sneaky limiting beliefs are running in the background, whispering things like 'you’re not good enough, smart enough

or in my case, at the time of this recording, I’m working on this little gem I’ve recently uncovered, “you’ll get what you want but you’ll be too exhausted to enjoy it”

I have a free resource for you to help you start identifying and reframing the outdated and limiting beliefs that are preventing you from getting what you want.

If your internal dialogue is filled with self-doubt and scarcity—and you don’t even realize it because it’s been playing in the background for so long—it’s time to shift that.

Download my free workbook to start identifying and clearing your limiting beliefs.

Become aware of your habitual thoughts. You may not even realize the subtle, negative loops running in your mind because they feel so familiar.

This is where working with a coach or mentor can be powerful. We can help you recognize the phrases and patterns that are keeping you stuck and help you shift them. I’d love to help you with this, so in the show notes you’ll also see the link to Book a call with me

Your vibration is something you have control over.

And by shifting it—little by little, thought by thought—you’ll start to see real changes in your life.

So today, I invite you to start paying attention.

Notice how you feel.

Notice the thoughts behind it.

And then, make the choice to shift.
